MOVING TO TOWN HALL in Summer 2025
The Town of Stillwater Historian’s Office has begun the process of moving from its current location at the Stillwater Area Community Center to the Stillwater Town Hall. This move will allow Stillwater’s historical records to be better preserved for future generations with up-to-date storage and preservation methods. The Historian’s office not only preserves Stillwater’s past, it also documents, researches, interprets, and shares information about our local history. Parts of the Town’s historical collections can be seen on display at our local Blockhouse Museum.
The Stillwater Blockhouse Museum will open for the season starting Memorial Day Weekend. It will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the summer. Be sure to stop inside and check out some of our new exhibits on Stillwater’s history or enjoy a picnic lunch in our park with a scenic view of the Hudson River. The Stillwater Blockhouse has also brought back its Walkway to History engraved brick project. Please help us fill our walkway by ordering a brick for yourself or as a gift. Please make a note in the comments if you wish to have your brick placed in our new Baker Memorial seating area, as space is limited.
