On April 28th, join us to recognize the Revolutionary War patriots laid to rest in Saratoga County. The County Historian’s office secured grants through the William G. Pomeroy Foundation & the Sons of the American Revolution to install Patriot Burial Markers in front of cemeteries serving as the final resting place of America’s first veterans. |

Date: April 28th, 2024 The public is invited to one, or all three ceremonies, honoring our Revolutionary era local veterans. Start Time: 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm Location: Patriot Burial Marker Unveilings, The Ormsbee Cemetery, Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, & the Stillwater Union Cemetery (see addresses below) |
Additional Information
Approximately 20-minute public ceremonies with presentations by local officials, the Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, and local historians will occur at each of the three cemeteries selected. The public is invited to attend one or all three. We encourage carpooling as parking at these historic cemeteries is limited.
- 11AM: The Ormsbee Cemetery, 299 Ormsbee Road, Greenfield NY
- 1PM: Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, 814 Swaggerton Road, Charlton, NY
- 3PM: Stillwater Union Cemetery, 1168 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, NY
